Hannah and her roommates went to the park to "feed the ducks" where Matt, Chris, Treon and his wife Sierra had been working on the staging for the surprise. They set up Matt and Hannah's song "All about us." by He is We to be playing by the trees with the lights and had set up a signal for Matt to tell Treon to plug in the white lights lining the bridge and trees. Matt would put his hand on the railing of the bridge and then Treon underneath the bridge hiding would plug in the lights.
While Hannah and her friends were feeding the ducks Matt came up behind her and said "Hannah" she spun around and said "What are you doing here?" He loved that :) The surprise and plans had worked. She didn't have any idea it was happening tonight.
He asked her to go for a walk with him. She was still focused on him being in Idaho when he wasn't supposed to be. But said Yes. They started walking and as they stepped on to the dark bridge Matt gave the Signal and Treon plugged the lights into the generator lighting up their path. He walked her to the tree and bent to one knee and pulled out the ring. He worried that afternoon after Hannah left to go back with her roommates. "What if she says NO?"
Luckily for Matt and our family She said YES!!
